What Doctoral Level Care Means for You

What sets us apart from other hearing centers is our level of education and experience. Doctors of Audiology complete a four-year professional doctoral program following an undergraduate degree in speech and hearing science, giving them the clinical depth to diagnose hearing loss and build customized treatment plans that go far beyond any device fitting.

Hearing loss changes not just your ears, but how your brain processes sound. Our rehabilitation programs help retrain the auditory system, improving the skills to enhance clarity, understanding, and confidence that no device alone can provide.

Your First Appointment

We recommend that you bring your frequent communication partner such as a friend or family member with you to your appointment. Having your communication partner with you is important to provide better outcomes for your evaluation.

1. We begin the appointment by having you fill out a short questionnaire so we can understand your listening environments and what brought you in. This helps us understand what areas you are having trouble hearing in.

2. After a short conversation to get to know you, we will look inside your ears with an otoscope to check for any earwax build-up or ear infection. Once we’ve ensured your ears are clean, then we begin the hearing test.

3. After your hearing test we will go over your results and explain them to you. We believe education is important, that’s why we will go over in detail the effects of your hearing loss.

4. If hearing aids are recommended, then we will go over your options and our audiologists will make the recommendation based on your degree of hearing loss and unique needs.

Uthe Hearing Aid & Audiology Centers is a preferred hearing care provider for the NFL Players Association Professional Athletes Foundation. Through this partnership, the PAF aims to bring better hearing to former professional athletes and their fans across the nation. Together, we spread awareness, help players in need of hearing care, and collect data on the connection between hearing loss and professional football.
